Hangry Chocolate Recipes Sugar and Dairy Free, Avocado and Cocoa Chocolate Mousse

Sugar and Dairy Free, Avocado and Cocoa Chocolate Mousse

A simply divine avo based chocolate mousse that is full of nutrition and guaranteed to satisfy your tastebuds!

While you are closing your mouth over the first spoonful of this delicious creamy chocolate mousse, it will be hard to remember that it is avocado that you are eating. Tasty and healthy, this recipe is also allowed on various diets such as the Keto, Paleo and Gaps diets.

Suddenly there was Chocolate Mousse

One of those magical recipes that are super fast and easy to make, uses simple, whole ingredients, and is good for your body as well as your taste buds. All you have to do is mash some ripe avos until smooth, add cocoa and a little bit of sweetness. I use stevia in this recipe, but if you can eat honey I recommend using that instead. Don’t be shy with the cocoa, too little cocoa ends up almost enhancing the avo flavour. But remember that the more cocoa you add the more sweetness you will want to counter it with.

Dairy Free yet Creamy

Believe it or not, this chocolate mousse is dairy-free yet does not contain any processed dairy-imitation ingredients. We owe the thick and creamy texture to the wonder of the avocado pear. Well-ripened avo will mash into a smooth thick paste that adopts the chocolate flavour of the cocoa as you mix it in. The addition of any form of a cream is totally optional. Without cream, your mousse will be denser and richer, perfect for the slow eater that cherishes every spoonful. Added coconut cream will soften the flavour and bulk it up a bit, great if you have many mouths to feed or anyone with a fussy pallet.

Good for You

This is a chocolate mousse full of awesome ingredients. Both Cocoa and Avo are Superfoods.

Cocoa is rich in theobromine, which helps to reduce inflammation and can protect you from diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. And avos have their own assortment of health benefits. They contain more potassium than bananas, they are loaded with fiber and heart-healthy fatty acids and eating avos can help lower cholesterol.

Treating yourself to some super yummy superfood will promote a happy body and mind. Why “cheat” when you don’t need to!
