Hangry Potato Recipes Cheesy Breakfast Spud

Cheesy Breakfast Spud

A completely new way to enjoy breakfast, this potato Breakfast Spud is no doubt an exciting alternative to your usual fried eggs and toast.

Featuring potatoes, eggs, bacon, and cheese, there really is not much missing from this breakfast spud dish. And if you’re looking to improve your breakfast game or even show off to your friends and family for Sunday brunch, this dish ought to do the trick!

This dish consists of many different food groups, creating a balanced and healthy meal. Potatoes, especially when baked, are a healthy vegetable containing many vitamins and minerals- they are a major source of potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B6. This dish is extra nutritious, as potato skin also contains high amounts of folate and potassium.

Bacon, however, may not be the healthiest choice if ignoring eating it in moderation, as it contains a high amount of saturated fat, and therefore a large amount of cholesterol. Bacon does contain a fair amount of protein though, with 37 grams for 100 grams of bacon. With all of this considered, it is recommended that for health reasons, you consume this dish in moderation. However, if you are wanting to make this breakfast spud healthier, swap out the bacon for some steak or Macon pieces.

Taking just under an hour, and using simple ingredients, this dish is straightforward and guaranteed to meet all your tasty breakfast needs.
