Hangry Beef Recipes Ginger and Soy Basted Beef with Leafy Green Salad

Ginger and Soy Basted Beef with Leafy Green Salad

An unconventional dish that is sure to surprise you with its delightful flavors. Make sure not to miss out on this Ginger and Soy Beef salad!

A beef dish that is guaranteed to tickle your tastebuds, this Ginger and Soy Basted Beef is full of exciting and wholesome sweet and savory flavors, and is served with a Leafy Green Salad for some freshness, crunch, and added nutritional value.

The Dressing

For this dish, the beef sirloin is basted in a unique dressing made from sesame oil, olive oil, red wine, soya sauce, and honey, and is spiced with minced garlic and ginger, finely chopped red chili for some heat, and chopped coriander for some freshness. Feel free to marinate your beef in this basting before you cook it in the pan, but you can also just serve it on the side or brush it over the beef when it is cooking. The sirloin itself is seasoned with All Spice which adds some warmth, as well as turmeric, and olive oil.

Don’t Forget the Salad!

The leafy green salad in this dish adds great nutritional value, and also adds some freshness and crunchiness. It is made up of sliced cucumbers, halved cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced spring onions, lettuce, rice noodles, and blanched edamame beans. The rice noodles are cooked until crispy, and add a fuller texture to the salad. The edamame beans themselves are full of protein– a 150 gram cup of edamame beans consists of about 46-56% of the recommended daily intake of protein for an adult (about 18.5 grams of protein).

Enjoy this succulent sirloin and salad dish as a weeknight meal, or use the recipe for a braai, and grill the basted beef on the barbeque. The leafy green salad can also be served with other meals when you are looking to add some excitement to your side salads!
